  • Emily was born and raised in Nashville, TN. She graduated with a degree in History and Political Science from Western Kentucky University. It was during her tenure in undergrad that she began coaching high school and club volleyball. She spent 9 years in the classroom teaching Social Studies and English while coaching at her high school Alma Mater. Early in her teaching career, she earned her Masters in Education from Tennessee State University. In addition to building a championship program over nine seasons and becoming the winningest volleyball coach at Hume-Fogg Academic High School, she also helped build and grow one the largest volleyball club programs in middle Tennessee.

Emily transitioned to collegiate coaching in the spring of 2018 assuming the role of Associate Head Coach at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. At the conclusion of the 2018 season, she was promoted to Head Coach and Senior Woman Administrator. In just four seasons under her leadership, the Trojan volleyball team has quickly climbed the ranks in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference to become one of the most competitive programs in the league. The team capped off the 2022 season with a trip to the GMAC Tournament Championship falling short to perennial powerhouse, Hillsdale College. The 21-win season is the 2nd most wins for the program in the NCAA D II era.

Emily and her husband, Jacob, reside in Kingston Springs, TN in their “country retreat”. When she’s not coaching volleyball and supporting Trevecca athletics, she enjoys hiking and kayaking, bon fires, road trips, and reading.

  • I believe in a “player first” approach to coaching. That means coaching, motivating, supporting the whole person, not simply the athlete on the court. In today’s world where more and more young people battle anxiety, depression, and general insecurity, I strive to coach players in a way that helps them understand that their identity is not found solely in their sport. I believe that positive coaching yields winning results. My program records speak for themselves.

I love program building. For me, coaching has never been about the next career move, but rather, what “special thing” can we build together in this place where we are. To do that, I train athletes to be better players on the court, but also better teammates to each other. From the beginning, I shape team culture by building trust, modeling and encouraging vulnerability, elevating the standards for accountability, and operating from a place of love. When players feel safe and supported, they aren’t afraid to fail. Every good coach knows that if you have a group of athletes with no fear of failure, then you have a team willing to compete at the highest level.

I have a thorough, advanced understanding of the game of volleyball. I know how to teach it, and I know how to mentor young women so that they feel empowered to be successful athletes and members of their communities. I run an efficient, fast-pace results driven practice, and I effectively teach skills to develop proper mechanics in players. I use statistics and film study to inform my coaching decisions. I am organized and efficient. I have a great rapport with the other coaches in the athletic department, my NCAA compliance officer, and my athletic director.

  • A native of Nashville, Moore is a longtime high school and club volleyball coach in the middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky area. In the last 13 years, her high school teams have made six state tournament appearances, including a TSSAA State runner-up finish in 2013. Moore was instrumental in the recruiting process for several of her former players who have gone on to compete at the college level.

Moore began her coaching career at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, KY, while completing her undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University.

In her three years as an assistant coach with the Greenwood program (2005-2007), the Gators amassed three district and region tournament championships, ending each season with a KHSSA State Tournament appearance. In 2006, she helped establish Vette City VBC (later to become BRAVO), the first club volleyball program in the south-central Kentucky area.

In 2008, Moore returned to her high school alma mater in Nashville as the head volleyball coach at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School. While at Hume-Fogg, Moore's teams won six district championships, three region championships, three sectional championships, and made three TSSAA state tournament appearances. In 2013, Hume-Fogg finished as the Division I-AA State Runner-up. Hume-Fogg remains the most successful volleyball team in TSSAA postseason competition for any public school in any classification in Metro Nashville, TN.

While at Hume-Fogg, Moore received Coach of the Year accolades in 2013, 2014, and 2016. She also helped five players earn athletic scholarships at NCAA Division I institutions (including Kennesaw State University, Tulane University, University Alabama-Birmingham, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, and Middle Tennessee State University) and four players earn athletic scholarships at NCAA Division II institutions (including TNU volleyball alum, Zakia Jackson, 2016).

Moore remains active in the Junior Olympic club volleyball community. In 2011, she joined the coaching staff of Ethos Volleyball Club and helped grow the club to one of the largest in the middle Tennessee area. While serving as a Master Coach and Assistant Club Director, Moore launched in 2012 the Ethos North satellite branch in the Hendersonville area which remains the club's largest, most successful satellite branch. She returned to Nashville in 2014 to begin coaching in the Ethos Elite program. In addition to serving as a Master Coach, she also acts as the club's recruiting coordinator.

Moore received her BA in Political Science and History from Western Kentucky University in 2007 and earned her Master's in Education at Tennessee State University in 2012. In addition to coaching volleyball, she taught high school geography and English.

She has also served as an adjunct professor at Cumberland University School of Education.
